GATHER
Gathering is an Expression of our Love for God
Martin Luther described the power of gathering for worship this
way: “At home, in my own house, there is no warmth or vigor in me, but in the
church when the multitude is gathered together, a fire is kindled in my heart
and it breaks its way through.”
Gathering brings a special awareness of the Lord’s
Presence
Gathering builds up our Spiritual Strength
GROW
DAY ONE
For those new to faith, Day One is a class that will give you
personal guidance to move forward in your faith.
GROWTH TRACK
The next stop on the journey is the four-week Growth Track
class. This provides orientation to the history and vision of Capital and helps
us discover our unique gifts and talents to serve others. This class meets
every Sunday at 10:30 in the Guest Lounge. You can begin any week and simply
cycle through the 4 weeks.
CONNECT GROUPS
No one person ever has all of the answers. We gain when we
gather with others and glean from the collective wisdom. When working alone, it
is too easy to give up when things get hard. By surrounding ourselves with
others working toward a similar goal, we find motivation, support, and
encouragement to continue further than we would have done on our own.

THE
GOLDEN RULE
Read: Matthew 23:11-12, Luke 6:27-36
Some of our common relational rules are:
Reciprocal Rule: Whatever you do for me, that’s what I’ll do for
you; you scratch my back, and I’ll scratch yours.
Ricochet Rule: Do to someone based on what some other person has
done to you.
Hidden Motive Rule: I act like I’m doing it for you,
but it’s really to get what I want.
How to move forward for a breakthrough:
1- THINK ABOUT THE THINGS YOU ARE THANKFUL FOR IN OTHERS
2- LOVE IS NOT RECIPROCAL; LOVE IS SACRIFICIAL
3- THE GIFTS WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN ARE MEANT TO BE SHARED
