FREEDOM OF THE WIND REVEALS THAT EVERYONE IS LOVED BY GOD
A slave girl with the “spirit of python” follows Paul & Silas around for several days shouting the same thing. She was a distraction. Paul called the spirit out of her. The enemy can’t hold up under the name of Jesus!
FREEDOM OF THE WIND REVEALS THAT GOD IS AGAINST EXPLOITATION
God loved the woman so much that he used her mess to free her. No man has any right to own any human being. Jesus liberates people from sin and death and can’t help but break the bonds of exploitation.
FREEDOM OF THE WIND LIFTS US ABOVE OUR CIRCUMSTANCES
Paul and Silas prayed and worshiped in the face of imprisonment.
Phil 4:4-7 Rejoice in the Lord always! Believe for the freedom of your household. The jailor’s belief led to the salvation of his family. Don’t give up.

Paul made them escort them out of prison. He had done nothing wrong . Stand up for what is right.

THE WIND OF GRACE
STEPS TO SETTLING DIFFERENCES AMONG BELIEVERS
What do you do with a disagreement? They are common for every human experience. Bring people together and have a discussion. All sides are given an opportunity to speak. Talk about the issues openly and freely to discover best practices. God established a new covenant.
RULES ARE A HEAVY YOKE WHILE GRACE SETS US FREE (
vs 8-11)
Our lives are filled with burdens. Marriage is difficult. Parenting is difficult. Working is difficult. Being a kid is difficult. God’s grace sets us free as we lean into Him and receive the Wind of Grace. Use worship music to help lift the burden. Don’t take on the yolk of performance. He’s looking for us to trust His performance.
SOME BEHAVIORS ARE ENCOURAGED IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN PEACE AND UNITY IN THE FAMILY OF FAITH (
vs 19-21)
Three of the behaviors were food related due to the lack of refrigeration, etc. One of the behaviors was sexual immorality. Being loose only brings confusion and trouble in your life. Walk in God’s grace in these principles.
THE WIND OF GRACE WILL ENABLE US TO LIVE IN FREEDOM AND EMPOWER US TO LIVE WITH SENSITIVITY TO OTHERS
We have enough issues of our own to spend time judging others. Ask Jesus for help to check your own heart and love others. Extend grace to others as you have received grace!

BOLDNESS OF THE WIND

MIRACLES CONFIRM THE TRUTH OF OUR MESSAGE OF GRACE
What confirms the message of the gospel today?
We shouldn’t discount God’s willingness to confirm the message of his grace by performing signs and wonders. Jesus also said that love between believers authenticates the Christian message (John 13:35).
Why did the apostles sometimes flee for their lives and sometimes not? (14:6)
They depended on common sense and the Spirit’s leader to decide the best option in each situation. They never backed down in principle (4:19-20), but they didn’t take foolish risks either.
Legend of Zeus
Zeus, the ruler of the gods, and Hermes, his spokesman, once visited Lystra. Disguised as ordinary travelers, dusty and tattered, they walked the streets begging for food. Finally a kind old couple fed them. Zeus and Hermes rewarded them by granting them a wish. When Paul, the spokesman, and Barnabas, probably taller and more imposing, performed this miracle, the citizens concluded that Zeus and Hermes had returned-until Paul convinced them that he and Barnabas were mere mortals.
WE MUST ALWAYS DEFLECT PRAISE TO JESUS
We obey Jesus so that others will know Him!
SCIENCE DOES NOT REFUTE FAITH, IT INSPIRES IT
Some people believe faith actually contradicts fact.
FAITH IS A REASONABLE STEP IN THE SAME DIRECTION THAT THE EVIDENCE IS POINTING
Faith goes beyond merely acknowledging that the facts of science and history point toward God. It’s responding to those facts by investing trust in God.
TRUTH IS A RELATIONAL CONCEPT, POINTING US TO SOMEONE WHO IS TOTALLY WORTHY OF OUR TRUST
We are not being asked to know yet another fact but to enter into a relationship with the one who is able to sustain and comfort us.
FAITH ENABLES US TO MEET THE ONE WHO IS TRUTH PERSONALLY
Facts of science and history, then, can only take us so far. At some point, the truth demands a response.
BELIEVERS DO LIFE TOGETHER

BORDER CROSSING WIND
Read: Acts 10
The Spirit directed each major advancement of the church.
Unity is not found in uniformity. Unity is a matter of spirit. The choir/orchestra will begin participating in the 9am service on Sunday, September 2.
NO ONE IS BEYOND THE REACH OF THE SPIRIT
Cornelius was the least likely convert. Don’t write anyone off. Cornelius was hungry for truth.
GOD DOES NOT FAVOR ONE MAN OVER ANOTHER. NEITHER SHOULD WE (v10:34-35)
God shows no partiality. He wants everyone, regardless of nationality or ethnic origin, to hear the gospel and believe. In Christ there are no barriers. Since God shows no favoritism, work hard at breaking down walls in your own heart toward people who are different. When we put up barriers, we cause opportunity to diminish.
PEACE COMES THROUGH RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS. (v10:36)
Peace comes in communion with Jesus. Let your peace overwhelm your pain. Find strength and encouragement in Him.
THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS SECURES OUR HOPE FOR ETERNITY (v10:40-41)
It’s the basis of Christian hope. There are lots of religions, prophets and teachers- even Christianity is not the answer. Because HE lives, I live. That’s all. We have to believe in Jesus. It’s not narrow. It’s for everyone who believes.
ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS BELIEVE IN HIM TO HAVE OUR SINS FORGIVEN (v10:43)
Nothing more – nothing less. Just belief in Jesus and our sins are forgiven.

PROPHETIC WORD OVER OUR CHURCH
We are in new season of prolific restoration. Receiving the yield and not just the field. This church has seeded untold tens of thousands of people all around this city. There isn’t a church around this city that doesn’t have the DNA of Capital Christian Center in it. God will do a restoration work, a productivity work. There are no lost years over this house. No lost years over the congregation and the leaders. God is doing something on this freeway that no one sees coming. It exceeds strategy. God receives all the glory. Restoration and encouragement in Jesus name.

STORY OF SAUL // WHOA MOMENTS
Have you ever had a Whoa Moment in life?
God, The Creator who is all-powerful, multi-dimensional, all-knowing God- steps into our lives over and over again. He’s more than a flannel graph Jesus. The stories in the Bible are Whoa, miracle moments.
SAUL WAS BAD
He was persecuting, killing and putting Christians in jail. He was right in the middle of the stoning of Stephen. He was not a man to mess with.
SAUL’S WORLD GOT FLIPPED UPSIDE DOWN
He encountered Jesus on the road to Damascus. He had a perspective shift. God loved Saul even though he was acting evil. He pursued Saul. Read:
Romans 5:8ANANIAS
There wasn’t anything necessarily special about him except that he followed Jesus and listened to the Holy Spirit. God could have sent an apostle, a disciple or someone well known to talk with Saul- but he chose Ananias. He let him in on the fun. Ananias questioned God. God’s ok with our questions.
SAUL’S TRANSFORMATION
The church explodes. 13 of the 27 books of the New Testament are letters written by Paul (name change). God didn’t change Saul/Paul’s personality or his gifts- he changed his heart! When the WIND shows up, transformation takes place.
WE NEED TO STOP LIMITING GOD
What are the dreams and ideas God has laid in your heart? Who has God placed on your path? Do you trust that God can transform you? When you fully relinquish your life completely to God, you will experience WHOA moments in your life.
