Singing Christmas Tree VIP // December 6

Singing Christmas Tree VIP // December 6

December 6 at 6pm

We are looking for 200 volunteers to host a row in the Sanctuary for underserved friends from the community while experiencing the Singing Christmas Tree.

With an amazing dessert served during intermission, you can hear the incredible life stories of those we have invited from many city agencies and share your story with them. From foster families, to women’s centers, to homeless shelters, and special needs . . . all are invited for dessert and the invite-only premiere of the Singing Christmas Tree.

The performance begins at 7pm. Doors open at 6:30pm to grab a seat. We are asking all volunteers to arrive by 6pm to get your row assignments and help with the placement of desserts.

Undone Women’s Conference // All Things New

Undone Women’s Conference // All Things New

It is with excitement and anticipation that we extend a personal invitation to you to join us for the 2018 Undone Women’s Conference.

Our theme this year is . . . All Things New.

Since the beginning of time, women have gathered together. It is something we love to do. And when women gather together to grow deeper in their relationship with God, something special happens. Hearts connect. Friendships form. Bonds deepen. And lives are changed.

So whatever your age or season, we invite you to gather with the women of our great community. Together, we will worship, connect, learn, love, and experience His Presence.

Know there is a place for YOU. And remember, no step you take will be wasted, not by a God who makes “All Things New.”

      Midweek Prayer & Schedule

      Midweek Prayer & Schedule

      PRAYER AT CAPITAL
      6:30-7pm in the Auditorium
We believe in the power of prayer! We are always collecting stories of physical healing, restored marriages and families, people coming to an understanding of who Jesus is, and so much more. YOU can be part of these miracle stories. If you have experienced a miracle, email your story to joanne.cole@capitalonline.cc. We would love to share what God is doing in our church! If you need prayer, simply show up. If you want to learn how to pray, this is a great environment to start! The nursery is open for ages birth-4 years old at 6:30pm.

      Midweek for Adults in August
      August 15, 22, 29 & September 5 at 7pm in the Chapel
Beginning Wednesday, August 15, adults will meet for prayer at 6:30pm in the Auditorium and then have an opportunity to move to the Chapel at 7pm to participate in a more in-depth study.

      CHOIR & ORCHESTRA RELAUNCHES
Our choir sings in the 9am service beginning Sunday, September 2 and will begin rehearsing Wednesday nights from 7-8:30pm starting August 15.  From violinists to electric guitarists, we are constantly adding names to the pool of talented musicians used to support the various music and worship needs of the church.  What are you waiting for? The orchestra rehearses in the Auditorium every Wednesday evening at 7pm.

      LOCAL YOUTH ROOM CHANGE
In an effort to create consistency on Wednesday nights, middle and high school students will be meeting every Wednesday in the Activity Center at 7pm beginning August 15. We challenge students to grow their faith, their character, and their relationships. It’s also about creating an atmosphere where students can belong.

      KIDS MIDWAY ROOM CHANGE
Our midweek service engages your kids in an interactive discipleship/small group program with worship, games, Bible memorization, interest groups, and more!  Children grades K-1 check-in at the Fireside Room and grades 2-5 check-in at A24 at 6:30pm. Our Nursery is open for ages birth-4 years old as well in the regular Nursery location.

WITH THE WIND // The Wind of Grace

WITH THE WIND // The Wind of Grace

      THE WIND OF GRACE
      Read: Acts 15
STEPS TO SETTLING DIFFERENCES AMONG BELIEVERS
What do you do with a disagreement? They are common for every human experience. Bring people together and have a discussion. All sides are given an opportunity to speak. Talk about the issues openly and freely to discover best practices. God established a new covenant.
RULES ARE A HEAVY YOKE WHILE GRACE SETS US FREE (vs 8-11)
Our lives are filled with burdens. Marriage is difficult. Parenting is difficult. Working is difficult. Being a kid is difficult. God’s grace sets us free as we lean into Him and receive the Wind of Grace. Use worship music to help lift the burden. Don’t take on the yolk of performance. He’s looking for us to trust His performance.
SOME BEHAVIORS ARE ENCOURAGED IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN PEACE AND UNITY IN THE FAMILY OF FAITH (vs 19-21)
Three of the behaviors were food related due to the lack of refrigeration, etc. One of the behaviors was sexual immorality. Being loose only brings confusion and trouble in your life. Walk in God’s grace in these principles.
THE WIND OF GRACE WILL ENABLE US TO LIVE IN FREEDOM AND EMPOWER US TO LIVE WITH SENSITIVITY TO OTHERS
We have enough issues of our own to spend time judging others. Ask Jesus for help to check your own heart and love others. Extend grace to others as you have received grace!
