1.  What are some your favorite APPS you use for devotions?
   I have a folder on my phone labeled “Bible” with all the various apps I’ve used in the last year (see attached image). These can all be downloaded from the iTunes app store for free. One of my favorite resources is She Reads Truth. You can access it both from the app or from their website: www.shereadstruth.com They have reading plans available and a commentary on the passage from a woman’s perspective that helps make it practical to my everyday life.

2.  Do you have any spiritual PODCASTS you listen to for inspiration?
   I LOVE podcasts. I haven’t really used it for devotions, but I definitely use it for inspiration. My top picks are: Hillsong Creative Podcast, our Capital Christian Center Podcast (hahah), the Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey, For the Love with Jen Hatmaker, the Bible Binge, and Craig Groeschel’s Leadership Podcast. (I’m in the car a LOT!)

3.  What’s your favorite version of the Bible to study?
   My favorite is the Message version (it’s what we give to New Believers on Sundays) and it’s just an easier read for me. I grew up in the church though so I’m often drawn back to the NIV because that’s the version I memorized most Scripture with (that’s also what Pastor Rick uses on most Sundays). Whenever I’m studying Scripture, if something stands out to me in the Message version, I often read the same passage or verse in several other versions just to compare/contrast. It’s a good way to dig a little deeper. For Mother’s Day last year, I got a new She Reads Truth Bible (it’s really pretty) and I love having it next to me on my bed stand but I often find myself still reading most Scripture on my phone, because I tend to have it with me at all times. Hint: In the Bible App and other online resources listed, you can access multiple versions at anytime.

4.  Do you have any websites you often use for commentary or clarification?
   I often use biblegateway.com for a deeper dive and I’ve used blueletterbible.org.

5.  Do you have a favorite Bible Study tool?
   If you checked my phone usage, the tool I use the most would be YouVersion (Holy Bible icon on the image above). I take notes on Sunday on my phone in that app by selecting More and Events. I typically use it to look up Bible verses on my phone as well. I also listen to it in the car or while I’m getting ready. There are several versions available on that app to choose from. It’s definitely my most-used tool. I have been convicted lately to spend more time on that app vs. my social media apps when I actually looked at the usage on my phone.

1. What are some your favorite APPS you use for devotions?

I prefer printed materials but when traveling I love to use the Spirit Filled Life Bible in NKJV because it has a lot of study and devotional materials baked in.  I also like the YouVersion app on my phone.

2.  Do you have any spiritual PODCASTS you listen to for inspiration?

I don’t listen to podcasts – I prefer to read and reflect.

3. What’s your favorite version of the Bible to study?

I love the Spirit Filled Life Bible in NKJV as mentioned above.  It is a modern version of the KJV and I like the poetic construction and flow when I read.  I also read from the NLT on occasion as it’s a literal translation rather than a paraphrase.

Bible Gateway, Matthew Henry Concise Commentary

5- Do you have a favorite Bible Study tool?

I use Strong’s Concordance for word meanings.  I love Arthur Pink’s series on Gleanings from various books of the Bible, particularly his Gleanings from Genesis – it opens my eyes to deeper understanding of Scripture.  I also love to read articles from Biblical Archaeology Review Magazine every month that enhances the history and background of biblical accounts.

1.  What are some your favorite APPS you use for devotions?Read Scripture app, it is tied in with thebibleproject.com.  It’s basis is to read the Bible in a year, but it has their videos interspersed and really helps you understand Scripture and what is happening, along with understanding the entire picture of the Bible.

3.  What’s your favorite version of the Bible to study?
   The Message, it speaks so plainly. I supplement that with ESV and NLV.

4.  Do you have any websites you often use for commentary or clarification?
   I have an app that has a Matthew Henry commentary. It’s a very old common commentary, in older English, but it’s kind of a classic.

   Thebibleproject.com has helped me understand a ton!
