New to capital

What to Expect

At Capital, we are excited to welcome you as our guest. We want you to be able to experience the great music, encouraging messages, friendly people and enjoyable atmosphere that are a part of Capital. We know that your first time at a church,  brings up some questions: What should I expect in church . . . what should I wear . . . what’s available for my kids . . . how do I get there?

Here is what you can expect when you visit Capital.

•     You’ll enjoy upbeat music and practical messages that help you deal with real-life issues. We’ll even give you a helpful outline with the Bible passages. What you learn on the weekend, you’ll be able to use during the week.

•     Whether you need childcare or are looking for a place for your teens, a host will be nearby to help you get where you need to go. Follow the first-time guest parking signs for a close walk to the entrance.

•     We know that as a parent you need be sure that your children are in a SAFE learning environment. And we know that your children are looking for a FUN place to learn. We’ve invested a lot to make sure that both of these goals are reached. You’ll see this in the buildings the children and students meet in, and even more in the volunteers who work with your kids. Visit Capital Kids!

If it’s been a long time since you’ve been to church, Capital has you in mind! There’s already enough you have to think about when you’re visiting a church for the first time. We hope that getting some stuff out of the way not only encourages you to join us for church, but also helps you to connect with the hope and encouragement that God has for you.

F.A.Q

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the service?

Services last about one hour and 15 minutes. We start by singing three to four songs. Then the speaker delivers an inspirational message. If you want to see our preaching style, check out our messages.

What time should I arrive?

We suggest arriving 15 minutes before the service of your choice. You will be greeted by a host on the East Entrance. You also will receive a gift card to grab a beverage at a food truck on campus before or after the service.

Do you ask for money?

The offering is for those who are part of the Capital family. Instead of wanting you to give something, we want you to get something!

Will childcare be provided?

Yes. Children’s ministry is available for ages birth-5th grade. If this will be your child’s first visit to Capital Kids, you can save time by pre-registering your child online. Check in with a host at the guest table when you arrive, and they can walk you to the kids rooms. We do have a ministry available for middle school students as well. They can attend the 678 service located in A24 at the 11am service only. A host would love to walk you to the location.

What should I wear?

We’re more concerned with meeting your real life needs than with what you wear. So, all styles of dress are appropriate. Wear whatever is comfortable for you.
