Our summer focus is to pursue growth in our family life.  The principles that strengthen family relationships also work to strengthen relationships with friends and work associates.  When relationship habits are applied in our work environment, we can set an atmosphere of truly productive impact. Regardless of your family make-up, the relationship habits we will learn have the potential to help you in every aspect of life. 

We will introduce habits to build a healthier, happier, and more rewarding relationship with others. Most of these relationship habits can be captured quickly and then developed over time.  Even in the early days of pursuit, these habits will improve your connection and closeness right away.  When you create a small, positive change in your behavior, you will see immediate results with your relationships. A little attention, love, kindness, respect, tenderness, compassion, and thoughtfulness go a long way.   

Join us every Wednesday in June and July, excluding July 6, in the Auditorium for worship and the Relationship Habits workshop. Capital Men and Women are invited to participate in this way as well.

Capital Family Pool Party @ Lincoln Village Community Pool

The weather is warming up, and we are hosting a Capital family pool party! Join us on Saturday, August 13, from 5:30 to 8pm at the Lincoln Community Pool. We’ve rented the place out and you get to come for free. Kids can get some splash time in while moms and dads continue building friendships. Lifeguards will be on duty, but we encourage you to get in the pool and play! Hosted by Capital Moms. *This is not a kid drop off event. Parents/guardians must stay present throughout the duration of the event. It’s a FAMILY event!

What to Bring
• Seating around the pool is limited, so bring a chair to lounge in or some blankets.
• Bring towels, goggles, sunscreen, and pool toys (lounge flotation devices are not allowed)

• Pizza, water bottles, and juice boxes

We are hosting a party for all of our Dream Teams! If you volunteer in any area of service at Capital: musicians, greeters, ushers, Capital Kids, Connect Group leaders, Rooted leaders, Celebrate Recovery volunteers, men’s and women’s leaders, senior adult volunteers, and all other areas of ministry . . . you won’t want to miss a night dedicated to honor you! Dress is casual and volunteer awards will be handed out.

We have some surprises in store for this unforgettable night. Capital doesn’t just happen week to week, it’s built and carried everyday, by everyday people – people who give their time, talent, and energy to make church a great experience for others. Whether it’s sweeping or singing, on Sunday or midweek, volunteering is a fantastic way to forge new friendships while learning new skills or strengthening established ones.

First Wednesday | Back to School Prayer @ Capital Christian Center

Prayer Emphasis: Kindergarten – College-age Students

It’s so hard to believe that the summer is winding down and it’s time to get ready to head back to school. We want you to know that Capital is here to support, pray, and walk alongside you this school year – whether that be in a building, online or at home.  We also understand the importance of our church’s support of our students, educators and administrators. Knowing they have a church walking alongside them makes a huge difference to our students  – no matter what stage of school they are in – and educators alike. 

Join us on Wednesday, September 7 at 7pm in the Auditorium for a Back-to-School prayer and worship night! Kids K-12th grade can start the night checking into their regular rooms and will be brought over in the middle of service to be prayed over. 

Here are some scriptures to pray over our students this year:

Protection Over Our Kids

Homeless Outreach | Sept 23 @ Capital Outreach Warehouse

We will be hosting our first Homeless Outreach to the unhoused community on Saturday, September 23, from 10am-12pm. Our outreach program includes distributing food, hygiene items and other essentials, picking up trash, and visiting the unhoused in parks, by light rail, and in camps. Those who sign up for this date will meet at the Warehouse at 10am for a rally with Pastor Rick and carpool to the various distribution locations. 

Those who have signed up at our volunteer link get first pick for the opportunities to serve. So make sure you have signed up here! There will be another email from “Planning Center Services” that allows you to sign up for the specific categories like bag prep, bag transportation (drivers), and bag distribution if you have signed up to serve in this way. Groceries are packed out of the Warehouse location on September 21 & 22.
