Racial Reconciliation in Sacramento: Multi-Church Meeting

We’re Better Together

Over 2000 people from more than 30 churches will meet Sunday night, January 15, at Sacramento’s 28th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Gathering and Celebration, to celebrate the progress we have already made and to be challenged to work toward greater racial reconciliation and harmony in Sacramento. This event will take place at Capital Christian Center, and will also be live streamed at www.mlksacramento.com

Keynote Speaker: Pastor Hurmon Hamilton

Pastor Hurmon Hamilton was born in San Francisco and raised in Coushatta, Louisiana. He is married to Rhonda Hamilton, M.D., and they have two children: Jonathan and Lauren. He earned his B.A. in Philosophy and History from Grambling State University and his Master of Divinity from San Francisco Theological Seminary.

Pastor Hurmon returned to the Bay Area in 2011 and served as the Teaching Pastor of Abundant Life Christian Fellowship (ALCF) in Mountain View, CA for two years. Through his weekly messages, leadership and pastoral care, countless lives were deeply touched, transformed and blessed. Following his tenure at ALCF, Pastor Hurmon led the birthing of New Beginnings Community Church in April 2014, where he passionately serves as Senior and Founding Pastor, leading a large and rapidly growing, diverse church community.

The MLK Celebration creates unity through:

  • Music by the MLK Worship Team, a team led by Tecoy and Ellington Porter
  • “Difference Maker” awards given to individuals for their service in the Sacramento area
  • Keynote speech by Gregory Campbell

FIRST SUNDAY OF THE YEAR

January 1 at 10:30am | Meet in Person

On New Year’s Day we will be in the house at 10:30am. What a great way to start the New Year together! Being with God and in His presence. We will worship and receive. Larry Lea is going to be our guest on New Year’s Day. He has touched my life in profound ways through the years. His teaching on prayer has equipped me to have the ability to pray at anytime through the Lord’s prayer in a way that gives strength and power to my prayers. He has imparted life through Jesus to me. I have recently come back into relationship with Larry and he will join us this Sunday. Don’t miss what’s happening in the house and in the spirit at 10:30am on January 1.
