HOMELESS OUTREACH – NOV 18

SATURDAY, NOV 18

We will be hosting our next Homeless Outreach to the unhoused community on Saturday, November 18, from 10am-12pm. Our outreach program includes distributing food, hygiene items and other essentials, and visiting the unhoused by Richards Blvd near C Street, Union Gospel Mission, and Loaves and Fishes.

Those who sign up for this date will meet at the Warehouse at 10am for a rally with Pastor Rick and carpool to the various distribution locations. We will also be hosting a Thanksgiving Grocery Giveaway from our Warehouse location from 10am-12pm. You can read more about that here.

Those who have signed up at our volunteer link get first pick for the opportunities to serve. So make sure you have signed up here! There will be another email from “Planning Center Services” that allows you to sign up for the specific categories like bag prep, bag transportation (drivers), and bag distribution if you have signed up to serve in this way.

Parking is limited. We ask that you carpool if you can! We suggest to park along Croydon Way (see image below). Since business hours are closed, you can park across the street in the empty parking lot. There is minimal parking behind the warehouse as well.

CONVOY OF HOPE GROCERIES – OCT 19

THURSDAY, OCT 19

We have been invited to serve at Convoy of Hope’s West Coast Distribution Center this Thursday, October 19, at 6pm. If you are available, we will send another email from Planning Center to those who have signed up to Volunteer with Capital Outreach. If you are interested in signing up and don’t receive the Planning Center sign up form by the end of day on Monday, please email crystal.molnar@capitalonline.cc with the subject line “Convoy Groceries” and we will get you added to the event.

We will be bagging 1500 grocery bags to benefit a grocery giveaway in partnership with Trinity Life Center and Oak Park Christian Church. They are requesting 40 volunteers for this event. This is the first large packing event to be hosted in the new 70,000 square foot Distribution Center! We are exctied to be a part of this launch.

We have been invited to serve at Rosemont Community’s 14th Celebration on Saturday, September 30! We have agreed to provide volunteers and also host an exhibitor’s booth. Those who have signed up at our volunteer link get first pick for the opportunities to serve. So make sure you have signed up here! There will be another email from “Planning Center Services” that allows you to sign up for the specific categories to serve such as: set up/tear down, assist exhibitors booth set up, monitor bounce houses, deliver hot dogs to tables, trash pick up, etc.

Pastor Rick will be out at this Rosemont Celebration event at the exhibitor table to represent Capital Outreach and encourage more volunteer sign ups and share upcoming events to be part of.

If you are unable to serve and sign up to volunteer, feel free to come out and attend the community event! There are so many fun things happening!

Free Event Details:
Please join us Saturday, September 30 at Rosemont Community Park from 10am-2pm. This event is proudly hosted and coordinated by the Rosemont Community Association (RCA). More than 1,000 participants will enjoy information tables, games, pony and train rides, bounce houses, climbing tower, face painting, complimentary hot dogs, entertainment, and the opportunity to socialize with members of the Rosemont community.
