2018 Vision // Culture of Volunteering

Our Capital Culture vision for 2018 includes helping you identify your gifts and passion in order to serve others in a joyful way.

Read: 1 John 4:7-12

Love is a gift from God and is a quality that brings healing to those around us and attracts people to its source. Love must be our identifying factor.
Resource: The Ragamuffin Gospel, Brennan Manning

Read: Colossians 3:23-24

1. Serving allows us to discover and develop our spiritual gifts.

2. Serving allows us to experience miracles.

3. Serving enables us to be more like Jesus.

4. Serving surrounds us with other Christians who can help us follow Jesus.
Read: Hebrews 10:24-25

5. Serving is good for your soul.

If you’ve got a heart to serve, we’ve got a place for you.
Easy on Ramps
1 – Sign up to shadow a team online! Link is:
www.capitalonline.cc/volunteer
2 – Text you area of interest to: 916-750-5794
3 – Fill out a volunteer paper at Connect Central on any Sunday
4 – Attend the Next Step/Basecamp four-week class to get an introduction into all things “Capital” :
https://www.capitalonline.cc/get-connected
5 – Join our team at 8:15am on any Sunday for our rally! (Meet Laine or Michelle) We can plug you into an area of interest to shadow that day.

Showing up to shadow or completing any of the steps above does not lock you into a “long-time commitment”. You can commit to as little or as much as you would like. We have some volunteers that serve 1 Sunday a month. We have other volunteers that serve every Sunday! The point is – don’t do nothing – try something!

2018 Vision // Culture of Volunteering

2018 Vision // Culture of Discipleship

We are dedicated to growing in every aspect of our lives and committed to being life-long learners. There are tools available to help us grow that we refer to as spiritual disciplines. Our Capital Culture vision for 2018 includes providing clear paths for the growth process.

Read: Romans 12:1-2 (NIV) ; Romans 12:1-2 (MSG)

DAY ONE
We will provide a book titled Day One to everyone who makes a decision to accept the grace of God and follow Jesus.  This book contains helpful information toward understanding what it means to walk with Jesus as our personal Savior.

NEXT STEPS – BASECAMP
The next stop on the journey is the four week Capital Culture class. This provides orientation to the history and vision of Capital and our core missional concepts: Gather, Grow, and Go.

SMALL GROUPS
As you end your Rooted experience, you are encouraged to engage in Group Life. This provides community and a context to continue the growth journey. The rhythms of Rooted (prayer, study and service) are repeated in the Group Life studies.

  • GRAB the Material
  • RECRUIT a Friend
  • OPEN up your Calendar
  • WALK with Another

ROOTED
After completing Capital Culture, we encourage you to register and join a Rooted group. Rooted is a 10-week experience that provides an in-depth, transformative, hands-on engagement meant to deepen your understanding of God, His Word, and the daily practices to grow.

Questions to respond to:
Are you currently committed to growing?
What amount of time could you set aside to grow every day?
Do you set personal goals?

2018 Vision // Culture of Celebration
