We have a special event coming up on Thursday, February 27, from 6:30 to 7:30pm, and we would love toinvite you to be a part of it! Join us at our warehouse location for an “Inside Compassion” experience. This will give you a chance to literally look inside our warehouse, take a tour, and get acquainted with what happens here every day and hear a story of life transformation from Ken Davis. This event is a great opportunity to see what’s happening “Inside” and get a glimpse of the future of Capital Compassion with a preview of our new expanded location. It’s an important moment, and we would love for you to come and bring a friend to experience it with you.

GIVING STATEMENTS

As a Jesus-centered compassion organization, we strive to be good stewards of the resources you entrust to us. With God’s blessing and your ongoing support, we will continue to provide food/hunger aid, refugee assistance, unhoused initiatives, special needs job training programs, and bridge building in the Sacramento region.

This past year involved a transition from one non-profit organization, Capital Christian Center, to a new non-profit organization, Capital Compassion. We were Capital Christian Center from January 1 through February 22. At that time, we transitioned to a new non-profit officially recognized by the IRS as Capital Compassion. Gifts made from January 1 through February 22 were receipted through Capital Christian Center, and gifts made from February 23 through December 31 were receipted through Capital Compassion. Donations to the two organizations are recorded on separate giving statements. All gifts given in 2024 to Capital Christian Center or Capital Compassion qualify as tax-deductible giving.

Please check your records to determine that your year-end giving statement matches your personal records. If there is any discrepancy, please contact our office at 916-856-5683 and we will work to make sure your statement matches your records.

As a supporter of Capital Christian Center/Capital Compassion in 2024, you have enabled us to deliver spiritual, economic, social, and physical care to over 1,417 families or individuals in need across our county. We expanded our partnerships to include 45 churches and/or non-profits as we reached out to our neighbors. We have included a 2024 Year In Review to encourage you regarding the impact of your generosity.

Thank you for your unwavering support in 2024. We look forward to increasing our impact in 2025.

Weekly update | January 16, 2025

Needs Are Not Going Away

We’ve launched into the new year of 2025, and every day brings something new. Today, a woman came through and immediately burst into tears when she walked in. We learned that she’s a domestic abuse survivor who had just been discharged from the hospital. She was looking for someone to help guide her through her next steps. Our team walked alongside her, helping her get settled into a safe shelter.

This is what we do every day—people are struggling and searching for a way forward, and we’re here to help them.

We’ve also been talking about Ken Davis (pictured above with permission to post). We helped him get into a rehab program, and he is now free from over 30 years of meth addiction. He’s about halfway through the program and doing well. Ken didn’t even know if his mother was still alive. We helped him reconnect with his family, and this past Saturday, he was able to hug his mother for the first time in over 20 years at the rehab center. It was an emotional reunion, beyond words. Ken was incredibly grateful for our help in bringing him back together with his mom, who had been praying for him all these years. It was nothing short of a miracle.

This is all happening through Capital Compassion—a key part of walking with Ken through his transformation and restoration. We can’t wait for you to hear his full story. We’re also helping him transition into permanent housing and continue sharing his journey.

Winter Items Needed

Clothing for Homeless

Fill the Closet with Warm Items

As temperatures drop, many in our community are braving the cold without the proper clothing to stay warm. We’re seeking donations of warm winter wear to support those experiencing homelessness during this challenging season.

You can donate from your closet or shop our Amazon list. Larger sizes are preferred! (L, XL, 2xL)

Items needed:

Winter coats (jackets, fleece lined sweatshirts, sweaters, rain coats)
Sleeping Bags
Gloves
Beanies
Pants (sweatpants, jeans, leggings)

All items should be new or gently used and clean/pre-washed. Every contribution helps to bring warmth and comfort to someone in need.
