Capital Women are invited to Sisters’ Night Friday, June 9, at 7pm in the Chapel. Guest, Kathleen Zepeda, will be sharing her story alongside Pastor Catina. She is an overcomer and has experienced both loss and reconciliation. You will be encouraged in worship and the word. There will be no childcare at this event. It is free to attend, no registration required.

A 10-Week small group experience that kick starts church wide discipleship

What if you stepped into a new journey and experienced personal transformation? Rooted is a catalyst for life change where discussion is held in a small group environment, creating a safe space for biblical exploration and practical learning experiences. This is a place where you dive into the elements of Christianity, the Bible, the church, and what it means to become a follower of Jesus Christ. Rooted provokes questions, conversations, and beyond-what-is-comfortable group experiences that are designed to help you find yourself in God’s story.

Rooted is a small group course that lasts 10 weeks, beginning March 5, 2023. The cost is $20.00, to cover the price of the book.

Racial Reconciliation in Sacramento: Multi-Church Meeting

We’re Better Together

Over 2000 people from more than 30 churches will meet Sunday night, January 15, at Sacramento’s 28th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Gathering and Celebration, to celebrate the progress we have already made and to be challenged to work toward greater racial reconciliation and harmony in Sacramento. This event will take place at Capital Christian Center, and will also be live streamed at www.mlksacramento.com

Keynote Speaker: Pastor Hurmon Hamilton

Pastor Hurmon Hamilton was born in San Francisco and raised in Coushatta, Louisiana. He is married to Rhonda Hamilton, M.D., and they have two children: Jonathan and Lauren. He earned his B.A. in Philosophy and History from Grambling State University and his Master of Divinity from San Francisco Theological Seminary.

Pastor Hurmon returned to the Bay Area in 2011 and served as the Teaching Pastor of Abundant Life Christian Fellowship (ALCF) in Mountain View, CA for two years. Through his weekly messages, leadership and pastoral care, countless lives were deeply touched, transformed and blessed. Following his tenure at ALCF, Pastor Hurmon led the birthing of New Beginnings Community Church in April 2014, where he passionately serves as Senior and Founding Pastor, leading a large and rapidly growing, diverse church community.

The MLK Celebration creates unity through:

  • “Difference Maker” awards given to individuals for their service in the Sacramento area
  • Keynote speech by Gregory Campbell
  • College scholarships to Sacramento area youth
